Jeff V. is 44, the chronological center of Generation X and exhibits pretty much all of his generation’s stereotypes. He grew up in the working class inner ring suburbs just north of Eight Mile in Macomb County, Michigan, the same age, place and time as Eminem. His formative years as a youth occurred during and in the epicenter of Michigan’s “Reagan Democrats” years and as a teen he volunteered to work the campaign of his state Senator, Gil DiNello, the most prominent of Michigan’s Reagan Democrats who endorsed President Reagan and eventually switched parties. He’s a veteran of the Gulf War and Wayne State alumni. He teaches Kindergarten English overseas in China which means he rolls around on the floor barking like a dog, chases down kids who swipe his picture cards, and every so often gets punched in the nuts.
